WHAT IS A PAL SMART CARD?

A Pal Smart Card looks the same as a normal PAL card but has the Wireless symbol on it and also includes a chip which stores data. The smart card can be used in conjunction with a reader to access the data on the card.

The benefits of doing so are improvements to safety as the reader will ensure that the PAL card is Valid and the Operator is certified to operate the appropriate category of Machine. The number of hours operated by an individual and on which machines are also stored.

The Pal Card Verification tool should be used in conjunction with a physical inspection of the card including Photo, Name, Categories etc. The tool will show the Expiry Date, Name, Photo ID and Categories that the Cardholder has.
